The Farm & The Land
The Farm is set on 10 acres of mountainous land. We purchased the property back in the Spring of 2013 and ever since we have been on a steep learning curve.
There is an old stone cottage on the land which we are renovating and this will be our home, at present we have renovated the existing barn - using mostly recycled materials and we are living here in the meantime.
We are really interested in working with the land not against it and using natural organic and sustainable methods of farming, our ethos is that we should live in harmony with nature.
Growing - unfortunately we missed out on the growing season this year as we didn't get our Polytunnel put up in time, and all our seedlings and plants that we did have unfortunately fell foul to the goats - the best escape artists in the world!! We are passionate about growing our own food, being self sustainable as much as possible - in all aspects of living.
In terms of energy consumption we have two natural streams running through our land and we hope to install a turbine system to harness the power of the water, along with solar and wind energy.
