Next Drum Workshop at the Farm is October 15th & 16th 2022
I am delighted to be working with Daithi Dubh of Wild Spirit Drums in the US to be able to offer this service of Birthing Your Drum in the absence of being able to run the workshops.
Birthing a drum is a complete sacred process from start to finish. I will assist you in choosing the correct animal skin for your drum. This can be done by either journeying and asking the animal to make itself known to you or by just being drawn to a particular animal.
I have outlined below each animal and their attributes.
Each skin has a specific sound and vibrations. The skins are all ethically sourced from wild animals with healthy organic lives which gives their hides great variability for vibration and sound. The spirit of the animal lived in its true environment, not farmed, so the life lives magically in the hide. It continues to live and be honored in the drums made from their essence.
The rims for the drums are made from Ash wood.
The ash tree represents the world tree or axis mundi as it is known in Latin. It has roots deep in the earth and its branches reach upwards to the heavens. It thus represents the connection between the three worlds of the lower world, middle world, and the upper spiritual realm. It is also taken to represent the integration of past, present and future, making it an ideal drum for shamanic work and travelling between the three worlds.
The ash wood is particularly hardwearing and ideal for the Irish climate.
The sizes available are 16" diameter or 18"diameter.
If you would like anything engraved/carved into the inside of your drum, this can be done also.
Each drum is mindfully made with only the highest intentions going into each drum. All the skins are soaked in sacred well water, imbuing them with the Goddess energy and the energy of the land.
You will also get a beater with a leather handle, packed with organic alpaca wool.
If you have a specific piece of wood you would like to use as the handle I can make this up for you also.
You can have a listen to Daithi playing the various drums by clicking on this link:

There is also a guided drum journey below which I would recommend doing to connect with the spirit of the animal of your drum

Rattles
I also make sacred rattles, these are made from the above skins also and from native Irish wood, again if you have a specific piece of wood that you would like to use i can incorporate it into the the rattle. These are usually filled with small crystals that have been cleansed and programmed for healing and for journeying.
