Hill Walking
Carrauntoohil Eco Farm is ideally located at the foothills of Carrauntoohil for all hill walkers and climbing enthusiasts. It is literally on our doorstep. Carrauntoohil is Ireland's highest peak standing at 1039m/3414ft in height and is the central peak of the Macgillycuddy Reeks. The peak is topped by a large 5m metal cross. There are various different routes that you can take to reach the summit - the most common being the Devil's Ladder. On a clear day if you are lucky and you time it correctly and the mist clears as you reach the summit you will be treated to some of the most spectacular views overlooking Kerry and as far as Co. Clare. We are located right beside Cronins Yard - the gateway to Carrauntoohil. We would always recommend that you get a guide when climbing the mountain. We are delighted to be teamed up with Kerry Climbing and we can arrange this for you in advance.
Not only have you access to Carrauntoohil there are a wide range of mountain and forest park walks in the area as outlined below
