Alpacas
We have 4 alpacas here at Carrauntoohil Eco Farm - Gwen, Diana, Oakley and Roger - They are sheared once a year and we plan to use their wool for felting and spinning into yarn. They are very placid creatures and very inquisitive, they get along great with the goats and are brilliant fox deterrents, so they keep our chickens safe too. They make some very peculiar noises - a screeching type of noise so don't be alarmed if you hear strange sounds at night!!
